4Blueant’s Best
By Esoth
I’ve used most of the major headsets over the years, from Jabra, from Motorola, SoundID, etc., and from BlueAnt,too (earlier models). High-end, mostly and the BlueAnt T1 is the best I’ve used. I use it with a Blackberry 9700. Connection and pairing painless, battery life excellent and call clarity very good (I’ve never had it drain all the way down). BlueAnt’s earlier models always provided great value in that they performed near or better than higher priced competitors, but with several of my Blackberries, I found the sound quality a little thin and sometimes scratchy. The TI provides much deeper, richer sound than previous BlueAnts, and the scratchiness is completely gone. The TI is also solidly comfortable. I use the additional ear-hook and there has been less ear-flapping than with any of my prior headsets (and I’ve tried a lot of different designs, trying to find the right fit). I like the rubber sleeve, but it interferes with re-charging. Its no big deal, but I worry I’ll drop or lose it some day when re-charging. Other Nits — I miss the clip-on feature from earlier BlueAnt models, which allowed you to clip the headset to your pocket, shirt collar, etc., when not in use. The BlueAnt T1 doesn’t synch perfectly well with my Ford in-car Sync system. But then, nothing does. The music player comes on in the headset automatically when you enter or leave the car, and whether the car or the headset picks up a call seems to be a running battle. Ford’s firmware is almost absurdly poorly designed, so it may not be fair to lay this at BlueAnt’s door. All in all, though, the TI is superb.

5Blueant T1 Bluetooth
By Terri Akers
I have an Iphone 4, and when I tried using my Samsung Wep that I used previously with my samsung phone, it was very bad. I asked around for the best Iphone bluetooth and was told at best buy that the Blueant T1 was great for it. The price at Bestbuy was 79.00. I came home on got one in new packaging from Amazon for 46.00. I Love it! A smart bluetooth…It is truly hands-free. I push the button and say “phone commands” and it activates my voice commands on my Iphone4. I then just say “call” and the name and it works flawlessly. When answering, it also announces who is calling and gives you the voice option of “answer” or “reject” without touching anything. It downloads the phonebook upon first using it. What can I say? It is the best bluetooth I have ever owned. The only thing I can say I don’t like is that it is a little more difficult to get on, since it has an ear loop and plug, though it is comfortable once its on. Would and have recommended it to others.

2Returning it after 6 days
By C. Somers
I bought this earpiece for a few main reasons:

1> ability to upload my phone’s Contacts, so as to identify incoming calls;
2> to be able by voice to “answer” or “ignore” a call;
3> and because of its purported wind-canceling abilities.

The latter two worked great.

I’ve returned it not just because it failed the 1st feature, but because I was repeatedly told by folks on the other end that they could barely hear me, AND because BlueAnt’s Support never got in touch with me (went through their website, they have my phone number and email) after 4 business days (presuming their support is in Australia, otherwise 5 days) – they “promise” 2 business days.

I have an older phone (samsung sgh-a707 sync), but it does have the Bluetooth OPP (object push profile) service. BlueAnt says this is the minimum requirement to support MANUAL transfer of a Contact list via Bluetooth from one’s phone to the T1. While the pairing of my phone and T1 was flawless and quick, something broke down when I tried to send my Contacts to the T1 – my phone just wouldn’t “find” the T1, whether I was paired or not. So, ultimately I really don’t know if it’s a problem w/ my Sync or the T1; but Samsung isn’t giving support anymore on this phone, so I turned to BlueAnt – and got no support either.

The other straws that broke the deal include the repeated complaints from callers that I sounded far away. And also the few seemingly random disconnect/reconnect that happened between my phone and T1. Walking w/ my phone in my front pocket and the T1 in my ear, the connection was either crackly or disconnected!

And yes, I did work with fully charged batteries on both phone and T1.

It gets two stars because under breezy conditions, the other person on the line said they heard NO wind noise.
