Today’s generation have seen and experienced a lot of conveniences brought about by modern technology. Among the myriads of gadgets with extended functionalities that emerged and achieved great heights during the last decade were cellular phones with full QWERTY keypads. These types of phones have given the user a miniaturized version of a fully functional computer keyboard packed into a cell phone. However, before you decide to buy one of them which feature full QWERTY keypads, try to look first at their advantages and disadvantages in order to gauge whether you need such phones in your possession.
Perhaps the most popular advantage of QWERTY keypads on a cellular phone is that you get to use that familiar, albeit miniaturized version keyboard that you usually use when you work on your computer. The placement of keys on cellular phones with keypads is similar to that of a regular sized keyboard that you use on most computers. The arrival of smart phones with word processing applications created the need to have those keypads on cell phones.
Having this type of keypad would enable you to use both thumbs to rapidly type in the words you wanted without waiting for a few seconds to lapse before you thumb in another combination for a single letter just like in regular cellular phone models. Cell phones with QWERTY keypads, in effect, would save you a lot of time when you write emails or documents that you need in your daily routine. Try to imagine you are in an area where intermittent phone signals happen and you need to type in an SMS mail message to somebody back at the office. If you will be using the regular keypads found on most phones, you would undoubtedly be spending three times the time you would have spent using a cellular phone with full keypads.
Possibly the single and most glaring disadvantage that cellular phones which feature QWERTY keypads have lies in the fact that they are always not less than two inches in width. This makes for a rather bulky communications gadget to carry, particularly if you have small pockets. Another disadvantage in using cellular phones with those keypads is that the user is prone to develop a type of repetitive strain injury called stenosing tenosynovitis which is caused by the frequent use of the thumbs to press the keys on devices such as these smart phones.
Nevertheless, with all these disadvantages present in cellular phones with QWERTY keypads, a lot of people have started to use them presumably because of the lesser time they would spend when they send out SMS mails and regular emails. Now, if you feel the need to have a cellular phone with QWERTY keypads regardless of its disadvantages, then go ahead and buy one. For all you know, it may come in real handy in your possession.
How can i get music onto my cell phone(its a t-mobile/samsung-SGH-t629)?
I read the directions and it said something about a cable and meorey card but im not sure if i have those.
i was wondering if theres a way i can get the music from limewire onto my cell with out those things cuz i saw people talking about it in the other questions.
Oh and is there a way i can email them to the phone? Will some one help me

You need to buy a MicroSD card and an Adapter first…Check w/ your local Service Provider store…

To transfer MP3 files (via a memory card), from a PC, to the handset requires having a Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader. The memory card must first be formatted and the MP3 files MUST be located in a folder named “Music” in order for the handset to copy or play them.
To transfer (via a memory card), MP3 files, from a PC, to the Samsung handset follow the steps below:
Insert the memory card into the memory card adaptor
Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader
Connect the memory card reader to the PC’s USB port
Copy desired MP3 sounds from the PC hard drive
Paste the MP3 sounds in the memory card folder named “Music”
Remove the memory card from the memory card adaptor
While in standby mode, insert the memory card into the memory card slot, located on the right side of the handset
Press the left soft key for Menu
Select Fun & Apps (6)
Select My Files (1)
Select Memory Card (6)
Select Music, using the navigation keys
Select the desired MP3 file, using the navigation keys
Press the left soft key for Options
Select Copy to (7)
Select Phone (1)
Press the OK button to check the box(es) of MP3 file(s) to copy
Press the left soft key for Copy to copy MP3 file(s) to phone

Turn Bluetooth® on

On the phone with MP3 files

Search for new Bluetooth® devices
Select the phone name, using the navigation keys
Exchange the PIN Codes on both devices to pair the phones (the default code is “0000”)
Browse for desired MP3 file(s)
Transfer data from phone to phone
Accept exchanging data

Samsung Sgh-t629 Review – a Review of the Samsung Sgh-t629 Cell Phone
The Samsung SGH-T629 cellular phone is a uniquely designed slide phone with 17 MB of user memory. The 262K TFT display features QCIF resolution and measures 2.12”. The 1.3 megapixel camera features 4x digital zoom and a number of different shot modes – including night, timer and multi shot. The camera also records video at 3gp (H.263 + AMR) and MPEG4.
The Samsung SGH-T629 includes both a digital music player capable of interfacing with MP3 and AAC files and 3D sound technology for MP3, AAC and SMF. Forty polyphonic ringtones also come with the phone. In compact mode, the phone measures 3.9” high, 2.0” wide and 0.55” thick. The unit weighs 3.2 ounces. In a newly popular variant on the now traditional flip phone model, the Samsung SGH-T629 features a sliding screen that covers the main keypad when in compact mode. Due to the placement of the basic control buttons beneath the exterior display, this design does not hamper the user’s basic control of the phone.
The Samsung SGH-T629 features voicemail, voice memo, and SMS/MMS message service. Smart messaging and media messaging are also included in this package – with a maximum message size of 300 KB. Instant messaging is available through AOL, Yahoo, ICQ and MSN messengers. VCard and vCalendar also come standard. WAP 2.0 supports Internet browsing on the phone, which also syncs with Microsoft Outlook.
The Samsung SGH-T629 operates on the 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz bands, and supports Bluetooth and USB 1.1 technology. The phone uses CSD, GPRS Class 10 and EDGE Class 10. The proprietary operating system helps to keep the phone secure. Users can talk for up a minimum of 2.5 hours, and the phone will stand by for a minimum of 200 hours.
The Samsung SGH-T629 includes voice recognition and standard Personal Information Management features. These include currency converter, countdown timer and scheduler. Further, the phone stores up to 1000 phone book entries.
The Samsung SGH-T629 is an interesting phone that is very visually oriented. The screen is large and easy to see, and its multimedia and messaging capabilities put it well within the needs of savvy cell phone users.

How do I transfer photos from PC to Samsung Mobile SGH-D830?
To transfer photo from PC to Samsung Mobile SGH-D830, I follow the following procedure >>>
Select a photo, click copy to removable disk (G:) – Click copy. The message I receive “Please insert a disk into drive G:. Can anyone assist as to how to transfer photos and music from PC to Samsung Mobile SGH-D830
ok well then try this out is works great for me all the time
plug phone into computer now go into my computer you should see your phone’s NAME or MODEL number and or removable storage open that up now you will see music pic’s video’s open up the pic’s folder now go into where all your pic’s are stored on your computer highlight them all or just some drag them into that pi’ folder in my computer and drop them and there you do there on your phone and you can just do the same thing for music and videos just do the same thing only open up music and drag your songs in that folder hope i helped you out =)

charging phone works through computer via cable but not through batteries via cable?
So i’ve made a charger using a 4 cell AA pack. Previously, I successfully charged my phone doing so with my Samsung SGH-F480, I was proud. Now that I have the Omnia HD, this means new data cable.
So, I strip the wires leaving white and red on the data cable, red as positive and white as negative (I think) I test it out plugging it into the computer ONLY using white and red, leaving blue and green out. It charges. When I put it to my battery pack which would be 6V, it has no effect. If I how ever put the wires the opposite way, the phone dies (yes I know I shouldn’t do this).
How is this so? It works with the SGH-F480 but not with the Omnia HD?

Why is my Omnia HD not charging but is using computer?
The best advise i can offer you is to to check in the electronics mart then if that fails contact the manufacture…

Samsung Sgh-t509 Review – a Review of the Samsung Sgh-t509 Cell Phone
The Samsung SGH-T509 is an elegant, face-forward mobile phone with 7 MB of internal user memory. The internal 65K TFT display features QCIF resolution and measures 1.9”. The embedded VGA camera features digital zoom. The user also can toggle between several different shot modes, including night mode and multi shot.
The Samsung SGH-T509 has a 3gp (H.263 + AMR) digital video recorder and comes equipped with 3D sound technology. Further, 40 poly ringtones are built into the phone. Voice memo and voicemail come with the standard phone. Java 2 comes preloaded with the phone. The Samsung SGH-T509 weighs 2.72 oz and measures 4.6” high, 1.8” wide and 0.4” thick. The 3×4 keypad is external and easy to access in a quick manner.
The phone comes equipped with MyFaves(SM) as well as SMS, EMS and MMS capability. Instant messaging is also included in the phone’s features. The phone is capable of sending media, such as digital photographs and video, over a short message and vCard/vCalendar are standard features as well. The phonebook holds up to 1000 alphanumeric entries, and the Samsung SGH-T509 is also equipped with speakerphone and voice recognition technology, making dialing that much faster and safer on the go.
The Samsung SGH-T509 is a tri-band phone, operating on the 850, 1800 and 1900MHz frequencies. The phone uses a proprietary operating system and WAP 2.0 functions as the Internet browser. The body of the phone has a SAR value of 1.1, and the head has a value of 1.02. Users can talk on the Samsung SGH-T509 for a minimum of 2.5 hours, and the phone will stand by for a minimum of 200 hours. The phone will interface with both Bluetooth technology and USB devices. Personal Information Management features, including countdown timer and memo book, come standard with the Samsung SGH-T509.

The exterior styling is still in the basic form of the aforementioned iPhone, however Samsung have packed these new devices to the rafters with new technology and some awe inspiring features. The 8GB version of the Samsung Omnia offers all of the same features as the 16GB, the only difference is the size of the internal memory.
For those who enjoy uploading lots of music and applications aswell as storing lots of photographs and video clips the 16GB edition will serve well, for those who use their mobile phone primarily for calls, text and email then the slightly cheaper 8GB version will more then suffice.
With pretty much everything you could want from a mobile phone, the Samsung SGH-I900 offers some major features. Ideal for business users, the Samsung I900 comes with a built-in GPS receiver and powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 PocketPC operating system.
UMTS/HSDPA enabled with 3G connectivity and inclusive of WiFi capabilities, the Samsung I900 includes a 5 mega pixel camera with autofocus, video capture & playback and a massive 8GB internal memory with the option for further expansion. It is also worth noting that the microSD card slot will apparently support microSDHC cards as well.
It would not be complete without Bluetooth for wireless data transfers of files and images to compatible devices within a 10 metres radius and handsfree voice calling. The Music Player is accompanied by an FM Radio for tuning into your favourite radio stations or catching up on the latest news and sports headlines.
The 3.5 inch touchscreen is a good size for browsing online, viewing documents and catching up on emails, plus images can be viewed with a far greater quality and clarity however the screen on the Samsung i900 will include Gesture Control which is fantastic news.
Other features of the Samsung i900 include TV Out, RSS Reader, MSN Messenger, Google Maps and Video Streaming abilities. Impressive to say the least, Samsung have also managed to give this smartphone not just a great spec but a high quality superior design that truly does make it worthy of its status as a high end device.
The Samsung Omnia i900 8GB has now been made available on Orange contract deals in the UK, it is expected that further networks will be offering this new smartphone very soon. The 16GB i900 is currently only available on O2 but again the UK networks are expected to be picking up this new model aswell.

This is for my son’s graduation and we aren’t very rich. We need to get an unlocked version for him that is new and cheap but from a trusted seller.

Almost impossible for under $400.
Expansys USA has both the 8GB and 16GB Omnia.
The 8GB goes for $494.
I have been ordering a lot from Expansys and I am totally satisfied in terms of reliability and trust.
