It also has VZ Navigator, Chaperone Parent/Child, and Field Force Manager. The W385 is Mobile IM compatible and has a VGA camera. Bluetooth Wireless Technology is available as well as text, picture, and instant messaging. This phone also comes equipped with five embedded ring tones plus five different vibrate modes as well as a built-in speakerphone. It has advanced speech recognition which you can use to control My Account, the Help Guide, Lookup, Calling, Sending Messages, and digit dialing features. You can also store up to 1000 phone book entries. Other tools include a calculator, a calendar, an alarm clock, a world clock, and a note pad. The price of this latest cell phone from Verizon is $119.00 with a new two-year contract, although there is also an online rebate included that can eliminate this cost completely.
If you are interested in music, the latest cell phones from Verizon offer the Chocolate by LG. This device offers a music player for both MP3 and WMA songs. It has a music key that gives you easy access to your favorite music as well as V CAST Music with Rhapsody. The Chocolate also has Bluetooth Wireless Technology as well as Bluetooth Headset Support. It is Mobile IM, VZ Navigator, and Get It Now compatible. Chaperone Parent/Child is available as well as e-mail, Chat, text messaging, picture messaging and video messaging. Is it likely that Verizon will get either the Touch Pro 2 or the Omnia HD?
I’m not talking about the current touch pro or Omnia models! I’m talking about the new ones.
yes because the have it’s predecessors the touch pro and the omnia
but they wouldnt have it for a while…maybe like black friday but they should definitely get the omnia for they are the only U.S. carrier with the original omnia…the touch pro 2 is debatable

For The Tough Hearted – Iron Man Triathlon And Sprint Triathlon
“Whoever finishes first will be called the Iron Man”, is the tag line that has revolved around the competition that produced the survivors of the game for the fittest.
Iron Man Triathlon is simply a game for the bold. It takes tons of courage, will power and endurance to start the race and make it to the finish line. In fact, the very first Iron Man triathlon competition held in 1978 was completed within 13 minutes before the day’s half ends.
Over the years, Iron Man triathlon has become a pool of multisport events that cover sports like running, cycling, swimming and sometimes, skiing. These have varying distances of multiple combinations of course sequences. However, the original event is still embodied in the Kona events that actually call the winners as Iron Men.
The Hawaii still holds the World Championship for Iron man Triathlon though the governing body hosts other competitions around the world that also provide the title of Iron Man for the winners. Nevertheless, the title is owned by the World Triathlon Corporation. Other multi-sports competitions unofficially call the events as Iron Man triathlon, only hidden under the terms such as Half-Iron man, or Iron Distance.
The Iron Man Triathlon held annually in the Kona Bay is an annual amount that is hailed to be the most popular of all triathlons. Following the standard of the triathlon, this event starts with swimmers crossing the bay of the Big Island which takes 2.4 miles of swimming, afterwhich the 112 mile biking and another 26.2 miles of coast marathon.
While the competition is held in Hawaii, qualifying events are held in various countries such as Canada, Australia, Canary Island, Japan, USA, Europe and South Africa. While many people might be mistaken with calling all similar competitions as Iron Man Triathlon, it is still good to note that this practice is technically incorrect. Iron Man races are supposed to be not used as a generic term for a number of multisport events.
This competition had its debut during the awarding ceremony for the Oahu Perimeter Relay, which then was a running competition that included teams, composed of 5 members. Incidentally, the competitors in the said event were runners and swimmers who for sometime, had been debating on who stand as fittest. In the said ceremony also, Commander John Collins noted that a Belgian cyclist holds the title for the highest oxygen uptake which eventually lead to the conclusion that cyclists probably are the fittest.
Sprint triathlon, like those of Iron Man or half-Iron competitions are composed of three disciplined events namely, swimming, biking and running. Sprint, being a smaller scale as compared with other variations may not require you the same endurance other types have but still it requires some great will power. In usual cases, sprint triathlon takes off half the original distance Olympic standards have.
Sprint triathlon only takes 750 meters of swim (considerably short for a triathlon race), a biking distance of 20 km and a run of 5 km. Not much of a suffering right? But it is for the beginners. Olympic distance, on the other hand, has standard of 1.5 km of swimming, 40 km of biking and 10 km run for the last leg.
Iron Man Triathlon, which seem to have the primary aim of testing the limits of the physical body and the mental endurance of a racer requires one to finish 3.8 km of swim, 180 km for the bike lap and a run to hell of 42 km. Once you embark on a sprint triathlon competition, the first thing you need to do is to condition your body for the grand day ahead. This can only be acquired through proper training, which normally lasts for not less than 13 weeks.
Set an achievable goal first. That would be better since you can work on it. Set your hopes high but do not go beyond plans that you believe would not work. Now that you have a specific point to get to, schedule your training program and start working on it. Assure to it that your plan will always be in accordance with the specific events that you are about to join. Do not just swim meters by meters. Or ride the bike for as long as you want. Or run miles on end. See to it that in each session, there is a specific aim that you are working with, say endurance or speed.

Sprint A920 with Water Damage?
I have an A920 which was accidentally submerged in water last night, and I dont know whether to call Lockline and order another one, or to take it to the store and let them do it. I am aware that the phone is covered in case of water damage, but I really dont want to have to pay the deductible! I dont have the lil pink sticker on mine that will show if it has corrosion, and the phone turns on and works, just has a few other issues, and water on the external LCD/internal as well. I do have insurance. What should I do to save time?
The white tab (which turns pink once there’s water damage) is there to only indicate that water has made contact with the phone. You can’t tell if there’s corrosion in the phone unless you open it up. 99% of water damaged phones will have corrosion.
Right now your only options are to buy a new phone (or do an upgrade), or go through insurance and that $50 deductible fee. Don’t even think about bringing it into Sprint since you’ll just waste an hour of your time. If you bring it in and tell them that it came in contact with water, they will not submit it to their techs. If you try to be slick and tell them you have no idea, they’ll open it up and find the signs of water damage, close up your phone, and tell you to go through insurance– it’s the policy.
If you really like your phone, the best bet is for you to go through insurance. Otherwise buy a new phone.

From recent discussions with our clients, we are noticing a trend that local businesses are currently struggling with the added changes that the economy is throwing at them, print ad costs are rising. That and the changing style of how people buy and research products, services, and brands is causing a new set of challenges. If you are an owner of a local business, you are probably seeing a huge impact of how this is affecting your bottom line. Chances are your business is probably not indexed prominently on the internet, specifically within the first page or two of the search results. Direct Return on Investment could consist of direct sales, emails, phone calls or visits to your storefront. It seems odd to say, but the local brick and mortar business need a presence on the internet to appear “legitimate”. It’s hard to believe that only 10 years ago the idea of an “internet business” was almost laughable. A profitable internet business was about as likely as winning a lottery. Let me explain a little about what has happened since then to change the market so drastically.
1. Google – Searching got easier and more accurate. More information could be accessed more readily and faster with less effort. Between 60% and 80% of all searches begin and end here.
2. Computers – They got faster as they got cheaper. We came to depend on them as reliable tools for both business and pleasure.
3. High Speed Internet access – DSL, Cable Modems, etc. enabled us to skip the dial-up wait and download huge amounts of information almost instantly.
4. Fuel Costs and Time Constraints – Shopping used to be an opportunity to search for goods and services personally, but as we get busier, we need to know BEFORE we leave the house that we are going to find what we need.
5. Mobile Devices – We can now search from our “smart phones”, our Blackberrys, PDA’s, and our I-Phones. From the car, from the mall, on vacation – it never stops.
Today, buyers can locate a business, its phone number, hours of operation, a map, directions and a list of brand names and goods and services in the time it used to take to locate a phone book. Any business that depends on locals and visitors, needs to be found on the internet. Here are a few numbers from our friends at Comscore:
- 63% of households in 2007 used the internet to look for goods and services.
- 82% of those who did a local search went to see a business they found listed on their local search.
- 64% of those made a purchase from that local business.
- Only 31% of households used yellow pages to find a business.
And the number of printed directory users is shrinking. It’s just too convenient to find out what brand names, goods and services you offer, how close you are to where I am (or where I plan to be) and to get clear, accurate directions to your shop.
There are people right now who are searching for goods and services in your area. You need to make sure they can find you and not just your competitors.
The addition of “local business listings” into the main pages of Google, Yahoo and MSN has allowed local businesses to land at the forefront of internet searching at a very low cost of $1,295. Compare the cost of listings in multiple categories of one printed directory with the cost of being found on the internet using a service like “Localize It” (www.local-ranking.com). Compare it to the cost of building a website and paying for “sponsored” listings in Google or Yahoo. Both services require maintenance contracts of repeated fees to keep ahead of the competition. Stop the service and your listing is taken down. Localize It local directory listing service can get you an “enhanced” listing in over 100 search engines and online directories, including Google, Yahoo, AOL and MSN, for about or in some cases less than the cost of one Yellow Pages ad.
Not only is Localize It promoting local listing service in multiple search engines, but they are building visibility for their clients. How? They are taking valuable product, brand or service information from the client and indexing this information into highest search volume search engines. Here are a couple examples:
- If you sell cell phones in a mall retail storefront, you probably sell Verizon, sprint, Nextel, ALLTEL, air cards, cell phones, car chargers, and more.
- If you are an attorney and your law firm practices, medical claims, injury compensation, worker’s compensation, and more.
Both local businesses have multiple services, brands, and products that people are searching for, however, what if you are only being found for one or the other? If you are only being found on Google, Yellow Pages, AOl, MSN, etc… for one search term, then you are missing out on a high volume of opportunity for search phrases that discuss what you sell for the other terms that your competitors are getting exposed for. Localize It helps the local business develop the focus of the 20 keywords, obtain your information, and manually indexes you into the directories. After 4-10 weeks depending on the search engine your information will begin to show up. This type of service can be done without a website.
Is it possible to get a MotoQ with Alltel without the data charges?
I’ve talked to them before about how I need a smartphone device for organization and to keep track of a lot of phone numbers and events and they were going to let me go ahead an get the MotoQ even though I can’t upgrade my contract until August. I went to buy it and then they told me I would be charged an extra $20 a month for unlimited data which I don’t want. I don’t need e-mail or internet, at least not at this point in time, all I want is a device like a PDA which I can keep track of everything I need to but Alltel doesn’t have devices like this that aren’t smartphones or that look quite as professional. Has anyone gotten a smartphone through Alltel without paying the data fee or do you know how I can do this because this is a real problem for me financially at this time and with a certain production coming up I really need this device?
I’m not exactly sure how Alltel works but I know you can block the data on Verizon’s network and both of the companies are CDMA Alltel actually uses Verizon’s towers. So it’s worth asking them to block the access. However you probably won’t be able to send or recieve picture messages b/c they have to block your ability to connect to the netowrk like that.

i just traded my blackberry for a hero, and i think i made a mistake. i cant hear the text message tone and want to change it but cant figure out how. i have looked online at the manuel but it was no help. anyone have any ideas? i want to use a ring tone on my memory card like i have for contacts but i don’t see the option.
