The Storm 2 Joins T-Mobile – Blackberry Storm 2 9520
The Blackberry Storm 2 was originally released as a network exclusive by Vodafone on October 28th last year, this limited time exclusive has now come to an end and the first network to pick up this top end touch screen Blackberry phone is T-Mobile.
This new release for the Blackberry Storm 2 means there are now over double the number of pay monthly tariffs available for this much in demand phone, T-Mobile have launched the Storm 2 on their full tariff range and made the phone available from free at just £30 per month with unlimited internet and unlimited text messaging as well as 600 minutes of calls to use at any time and to any network including landline calls.
The Blackberry Storm was the first Blackberry phone to feature a full touch screen experience, the new Storm 2 takes this one step further by including even more sensors for a more accurate user experience. Also offered is a 3.2 mega pixel camera, fast internet access via HSDPA, WiFi connectivity and an MP3 player with iTunes support.
The touch screen makes writing and composing messages and emails easier using the on screen Qwerty keyboard as well as fliocking through the menu options and internet surfing. There is no real competition from any of the other models from the Blackberry range but plenty offered by other manufacturers.
Some of the most popular mobile phones are touch screen devices and competitors to the Blackberry Storm 2 include the HTC Touch 2 and HTC Hero with a more advanced camera, the LG Pop with a slimmer design, Samsung Omnia 2 and Samsung Galaxy Spica match in terms of connection speeds and the Nokia X6 and Nokia 5800 which both offer a good sized touch screen.
Now that the Storm2 has lost its network exclusive shackles it is expected to be picked up by further networks over the coming days, there could also be a release of this top of the range Blackberry phone on the Pay As You Go system which would be music to the ears of many people who do not like to commit to the long term contract deals.
Blackberry have since launched three newer handsets called the Blackberry 8520 which is a mid range device aimed at social networking, the Blackberry 8900 which is a more business focused handset with fast connection speeds and the Blackberry 9700 which is an upgraded version of the original 9000 Bold model.
There are also rumours of a new device launching later this year again incorporating a touch screen, based on the popularity of the Storm 2 it is likely that this new handset will sway even more users across to the growing Blackberry brand.

You can go to http://www.blackberry.com/appworld/download from your phone and download it. I had the 8320 before I upgraded and had the App World installed. I also have Tmobile.

My New Bold Battery Wont Charge?
i have been using a SEIDO battery for my bold, but recently i noticed it wasnt fitting properly and the phone kept going on and off, so i decided to get a NEW Blackberry battery.
After buying it, i tried charging it with the blackberry phone, but it kept showing me the lightning bolt battery with a white screen sign. I then tried to charge it with a direct (desktop charger) where you connect neg and pos poles directly to the gold points on the charger, and it charged fully.
however the battery still doesnt charge when i put it in the blackberry, the phone just comes up, the clock screen comes on, then it proceeds to the home screen, but does not charge.
what do you guys think?
The phone is new. Maybe that it was tested before it got to the store. That might damaged the battery. You should get a new one. I think it’s about 5-6 $.

Whenever we mention ‘Blackberry’, what comes to mind is a big hand-held in the hand of people in business suits. This image have created a niche for Blackberry in the mobile market. Though the company was able to make an impression in the business class, its potential as a mass solution remained unexplored. There were much talk about taking the Blackberry out of the boardroom.
In a much awaited move, the company is venturing into the mass consumer market with a sleeker and much lighter model – the Blackberry Pearl . Apart from Blackberry’s traditional stronghold – mobile email, the latest model have a mp3 player, a camera and also supports memory cards. This is the first time the company have included any of these features in any handset. The phone dimension too is not typical to other Blackberry models but is narrower and surprisingly lighter at 89.5 grams.
Easy user interface is one of the high points of the Blackberry Pearl . The scroll wheel has been replaced by a miniature white trackball which is very convenient once you’re used to it. The device also sport a ‘convenience key’, which can be programmed as you wish. 1.3-megapixel snapper, though not the best integrated camera ever, is very handy and creates decent pictures. They have done a great job with the built in media player, considering it is their first time. It supports MP3, MIDI, AMR NB, AAC, AAC+ & eAAC+ formats. The handset have 64 MB in built Flash memory to carry your files apart from the external memory card option.
The quad-band handset with GPRS and EDGE gives you the unique ‘mobile email’ experience. The QWERTY Keyboard makes data entry easier and faster. You can download and view files in either Word, Excel, Power-Point or PDF format through document viewer.
With the Blackberry Pearl , it is always fun to work.

Instead of buying the expensive ipod, can I buy a Blackberry Pearl and add memory card?
How much would extra memory cost (8Gb and above)? WHats the max memory size available for this slot (is it SDmicro card)? Can a Blackberry Pearl play all audio/video formats? Can I attach an FM transmitter to listen to songs in the car? What would be the limitations of this approach vs buying an ipod?
i don’t think A blackberry pearl won’t accept an 8gb memory card besides, it’s not built soley for the music function so getting one and using it for the music function could kill the battery very easily. on the other hand, the ipod is more based on music
