Any color in existence has three qualities that completely determine the color:
1) Hue
2) Value
3) Intensity
We will now precisely explain what each quality means:
* Hue – The hue of a color is simply the name of the color. For example, yellow, red, green-yellow, etc.
Artists often talk about the temperature of a color or a painting. Temperature is really an element of hue. The warms colors are the yellows and the reds while the cool colors are the greens and the blues.
However, temperature is a relative term. For example although two different blues are both cool colors, one blue can be warmer than another blue.
For example French Ultramarine Blue leans towards the violet while Phthalo Blue leans towards green. Therefore French Ultramarine Blue is a warmer blue than Phthalo Blue although both blues are cool.
* Value – Value refers to the lightness or darkness of the color. If you squint you will see that, for example, that yellow is lighter than blue. The value of a color is actually the most important property of a color in relation to painting.
* Intensity – Intensity of a color refers to its brightness or dullness. The more saturated or the purer a color is the more intense it is. A color coming straight out of the tube is in its most intense state. Any mixture will dull the tube color and therefore make it less intense. It is however possible to make most mixtures more intense by adding a touch of one color or another.
Now, if you can nail down the hue, the value, and the intensity of a color you will have reproduced that color. Based on this observation we can outline a mental procedure to guide us with the mixing of colors:
* Observe – First you observe the color. For example, is it a certain blue or is it red?
* Select – Then you select the color on your palette that resembles the observed color the best.
* Analyze – Of course, as you would expect, the pure tube color on your palette will rarely match the color you observed. Therefore, we now must identify how the two colors differ from each other. In this, we need to concentrate on three things: hue, value, and intensity. Does the color need to be adjusted in terms of hue? For example, does the observed blue lean more towards the violet or towards the green? Does the value need to be adjusted? For example, does this blue need to be darkened or lightened? Finally, does the intensity of the color need to be adjusted? For example, does the blue need to be brighter or duller? One, two, or all three of these qualities may need adjustment.
So, in this article we have looked at the three important qualities of color: hue, value, and intensity. We defined what they are and were able to extract a procedure that we can follow every time we wish to transfer an observed color to our canvas.
In the beginning you will make many mistakes and the going will be slow. It is generally hard to judge the three qualities of a color and it takes practice. This is particularly the case with judging values and intensities. Nevertheless, you need to practice this procedure every day and over and over again. However, one day it will become second nature just like riding a bicycle. Also, in the beginning don’t be too fussy but try over time to become better and better at it.

There are numerous brands in the market offering a wide variety of DVD recorders. These recorders vary in sizes, features, function and price. Below are some reviews of DVD recorder models available in the market.
First on the list is the RDR-HXD910 DVD recorder of Sony. It has a typical hard drive capacity of 250 megabytes. This offers a crystal clear recording and has features similar to HDMI outputs. It is made of EPG and is compatible with certain dual layer discs.
It is considered as the 1st DVD tuner that has an integrated hard drive that comes with a Digital Terrestrial Tuner. Its recording capability and quality is outstanding. It has eight modes that offer a wide variety of recording options you can choose from. The lowest possible recording mode can pack a 428 hour video on its hard disc.
The chasing playback option allows you to watch the beginning of what you are recording while you record the end part of it. It also allows you to record a certain program even if you are watching something else. This particular model lets you stop or pause a live TV broadcast too.
The EPG or the Electronic Programming Guide feature lets you schedule recordings according to your preferences. It has many options when you choose to edit a video. Overall, this model is a good purchase even if it is priced higher than its competitors.
Second on the list is the SVR-HD700 also from Sony. This PVR is a personal recorder that comes with a very wide variety of power packed features. It has a contemporary look and design that makes it easy to blend into any theater and home.
Its silver chassis has a black accent, giving it a distinguished appearance. Its front panel displays useful information like the playing time, remaining time, remaining disk space, current channel, audio signal type you are receiving and the status of playing and recording.
It has a useful clock in the panel. At the center of the above display is a blue LED that illuminates the SCR-HD700 PVR, especially when it outputs high definition signals.
The twin HD tuner is this PVR’s star feature. It enables the user to record not just a single channel but two channels at the same time. You can also watch another channel while recording another. This PVR offers gigabyte storage space for your recordings.
Installing and configuring it is very easy. When recording shows, you can choose from three methods: one touch recording, straight from the EPG, or by setting the timer. Your recordings are protected to prevent its accidental deletion. This PVR is highly recommended specially to the high end buyers.
Last, but not the least, is Pioneer’s DVR-633H-S. It can do recording both on a DVD disc and on its 80 gigabyte hard disk. It lets you store up to twice the length of a normal video on a standard DVD disc.
It has an Electronic Programming Guide and an IR blaster. Scheduling your desired programs for recording is easy with the help of the EPG. This DVR also has an outstanding dubbing speed. In the high speed copy mode, 15 minutes is all you need for dubbing a two hour movie. However, dubbing and archiving copy protected discs is not possible.

Have you been contemplating about getting that sleek new T-Mobile G1 or that AT&T Tilt? Do you really need it? You’ll be surprised how much there is to consider when you opt for a smart phone. There are many pros and cons to getting that smart phone that many associates at your local cell phone dealer won’t tell you because this person is trying to sell you the most expensive phone in the store and its equally expensive monthly plan.
I personally own a smart phone and I’m not saying they’re no good. The truth is there are many good reasons to own one of these phones. I like to stay connected and a smart phone is one of the best ways to do it. I use my phone constantly, checking emails between meetings, surfing the web while waiting to be seated at my favorite restaurant, and even using my phone’s GPS function to get to the restaurant. However, I didn’t get a smart phone until recently, I really didn’t think I needed a smart phone until I started my company, my internet store for cell phone accessories. A smart phone became a necessity so I could stay connected online to make sure my customers received prompt responses.
Now that I have established that I’m not anti-smart phone, I would like to point out why you may not want or need one. A smart phone usually uses more power than a regular cell phone, this means constantly charging it. A Motorola RAZR can stay on for 3 days; a smart phone used moderately will stay on for 1 day at best. If you plan to go on a long trip without an outlet where you can charge your phone, be sure to leave your power chugging phone at home.
Most smart phones also require that you get a data plan. This can potentially add another 20 to 30 dollars to your bill. Unless you plan to use the internet on a daily basis you will be paying this extra money for no reason at all. Sure this phone makes you look sophisticated, but you really don’t need to pay an extra 200 or 300 dollars a year for it. First of all, no dodges horrible trucks they stay at the repair shop longer then you get to drive it. If i was you i would probably go with a ford ranger they last forever. My dads has 400k miles and has never had a problem and runs great. Also, nissan frontiers and toyota tacomas are really good trucks. Avoid s10′s (sonoma’s) they dont run real well either. If you dont need 4wd then dont get it you might be uncomfortable sitting that high. It doesnt bother me, but if you have never driven a truck and just want one to drive daily then go with a 2wd. They are better on gas as well.
2wd=2 wheel drive. Its a truck thats for better gas mileage and only purpose really is to haul and drive.
4wd= 4 wheel drive 4×4. Truck that you can put into 4wd is a truck good for you if you live in rough terrain and live somewhere with a possibility of getting stuck. You can just put it into 4wd and drive right thru it. However, the gas mileage isnt so great.
If you dont know a lot about 4wd’s then i suggest you just go with a 2wd. That way you have less to go wrong and it wont be as easy to tear up.
